Urban Thinkers’ Campus TU Delft – REFORM THE WAY WE LEARN!

The Department of Urbanism of the TU Delft will organise an Urban Thinkers’ Campus (UTC ) on Education for the New Urban Agenda on 7th, 8th and 9th June 2017.

In the past few decades, rapid and unsustainable urbanisation processes have prevailed in cities in the Global South, leading to a plethora of problems. Cities in developing nations face grave challenges to implement sustainable strategies in weak institutional environments.  Universities have a big role to play and TU Delft is no exception. As a  global university, we can contribute to support governments, citizens and businesses to achieve sustainable and fair cities.

That’s why we come together to discuss how to implement the NEW URBAN AGENDA into higher education curricula around the world, so we can all work together for the cities we want and need. The conference is composed of numerous workshops and short inputs throughout 3 days, given by professionals with various practical, educational and public backgrounds.

Do you want to see a change in the system of education to learn, teach and implement the New Urban Agenda from UN-Habitat? Send us your ideas, projects, research papers, and you will get a chance to contribute to the debate on education at TU Delft and further afield as well as to network with professionals in the field of urban development.

We will organise a special session in which students can showcase their work and ideas at the upcoming UTC. Please send an abstract of your idea (about 150 words) expressing your interest in contribution at UTC-bk@tudelft.nl latest by May 24, 2017. We will notify potential participants by email regarding their status.
